After a week during my life consisted of rehearsals and performances for the annual journalists’ variety show to raise money for journalism internships, I’m returning to the food world.

With nightly calls, shows or rehearsals until after 11 p.m. and working by day, the cast had practically no sleep, especially toward the end. But one thing we had in abundance was food. One cast members’ mother sent baked goods every single day during rehearsals; what a baker she is! Friends of the effort contributed lavish meals. My favorite as a Middle Eastern spread with the best baba ganoush I’ve ever tasted. I’m going to get that recipe. Also a recipe for bread pudding that the same person, Lynette Lo Tom of Bright Light Marketing, contributed. And I’ll soon share with you a Lemon Shortbread that was a highlight.

Meanwhile, I’m going to pick up the strands of my tattered life. More soon.
